Song Junji, Deputy Governor of Shandong Province and Secretary-General of the Provincial Government to visit the Saudi Jubail 3A seawater desalination project

On the afternoon of November 25, local timein Saudi Arabia, Song Junji, Deputy Governor of Shandong Province andSecretary-General of the Provincial Government, led a delegation to visit theSaudi Jubail 3A seawater desalination project, which is EPC (Engineering,Procurement, and Construction) contracted by SEPCOIII. Chen Fei, Director ofthe Shandong Provincial Department of Commerce, Li Yongsen, Deputy Director ofthe Foreign Affairs Office of the Shandong Provincial Party Committee, Hu Bo,Deputy Director of the Development and Reform Commission of Shandong Province,and Director of the Shandong Energy Bureau, Li Fengli, Generaol Manager ofShandong Port Group, Han Yaodong, Vice Mayor of Yantai City, along with otherleaders, participated in the research. Chen Yunpeng, Company party committeemember and Deputy General Manager of SEPCOIII, accompanied the delegation.
Upon arrival at the project, Song Junji andthe delegation first held talks with the senior management and operation teamof the project owner, ACWA Power. Marco, CEO of ACWA Power, warmly welcomedSong Junji and the delegation’s visit and provided a detailed introduction toACWA’s market business development, seawater desalination technologyinnovation, and project operation. Song Junji expressed gratitude for ACWAPower’s continuous support for Chinese enterprises and briefed them on theeconomic situation in Shandong Province. He acknowledged SEPCOIII, as anoutstanding representative of central enterprises in Qingdao, for firmlyimplementing the national "Belt and Road" initiative and relatedpolicy guidelines. He highlighted SEPCOIII’s role as a benchmark for deepeningthe Saudi market for Chinese enterprises and expressed hope for more cooperativeprojects in the future, bringing about mutual development opportunities forACWA Power and SEPCOIII. Simultaneously, with China vigorously developing theclean energy industry, he expressed the hope that ACWA Power could participateand contribute to the flourishing development of the clean energy cause throughmore extensive, deeper, and broader cooperation.
After the discussion, Song Junji and thedelegation, accompanied by ACWA’s CEO, visited the site of the Saudi Jubail 3Aseawater desalination project. They toured the areas of DMPF (DesalinationMake-up Pumping Facility), water tanks, and RO (Reverse Osmosis) plant, gaininga detailed understanding of the seawater desalination process system. He highlypraised the project’s high standards and quality in construction.
